Nomex underwear is pretty warm in addition to being good protection from
fire.  Racing on the East coast of the U.S. in July and August, there were
times when I thought that a bit of fire would cool it off in the cockpit of
my car (I hate to think what driving closed cars would have been like :-).

The worst car I had for a hot cockpit was a Cooper Formula Jr.  where the
coolant ran through the upper frame tubes to the front mounted radiator
(and typical British ``engineering'' had the temperature sender in the
frame tubes so if the water level dropped, it wouldn't show the high
temperature :-).
