New HP Laptop with Recovery partition

I use a program called  Acronis TrueImage which does much the same thing, 
except you can place the file anywhere, even on a disk on another computer 
over a network.   It copies any and all partitions that you want to save and 
places them in a normal file (with compression of your choice).

It has been a lifesaver in many instances...  especially with Windows 
machines.

1) Had a HD seemed ready to die last week.   Did a TI backup of it and just 
swapped it out and then restored.

2)  Wanted to upgrade a laptop HD (IBM) which didn't have a DVD writer on it.   
Made a TI backup to another machine over the network.  Swapped the drive and 
restored.  Magic!

Been worth it's weight in gold.
