Its the desert, there aren't any trees for the most part. Between 3k & 5k
feet there are some joshua trees (
http://netllama.linux-sxs.org/pix/42.html ), but that's about the only
thing that grows to any real height in death valley.
The picture that you referenced above was taken at Aguereberry Point (
