That'll work out well, I am only HALF left!
Interesting theory here, how many of you have problems with right / left
directions? Me, I get all bollixed up trying to tell someone to go
"left" or "right"... mild panic attack sets in, I have to look at the
hand and go Yep Yep Yep, this is the left hand, dwell on it then
proceed.
Brace yourselves, here's what I figured out ...all on my own! In the
early 50's it was Elementary School SOP to straighten out a child who
showed the propensity to use the left hand to write with. Methinks, with
6 year old brain, my left hand is the right hand to write with. They say
that my right hand is the right hand to write with. Well, fuggim, I said
to 6 year old mini-me that THIS hand (left) is the right hand to write
with. So, 50 years later, my handwriting stinks and my brain is impaired
with regards to doing left / right action things.
When I set up a drum set, in my teens, there was no one around to TELL
me which were the right feet to play the bass drum and hi-hat with.
Later another drummer complains that I had it backwards from the waist
down. The bass drum was on the wrong side, as was the hi-hat.
Ass-backwards!! Ha! That proved I would have been a "lefty" had I been
left the hell alone.
The only consolation is that the interfering old biddy has probably gone
to her reward (to burn in Hell) or is face-first in her oatmeal, if not
properly strapped in. :) That thought appeals to the Irish in me! Ric
