I looked at Mandriva (then Mandrake) when looking for a replacement for
Caldera, and, while it looked pretty nice, they were having serious
financial problems and it appeared they might be taken over by the
government of France (perhaps Mandrake was waving a white flag so wanted to
surrender :-).  I couldn't imagine having to deal with a distribution run
by the people who invented bureaucracy!
