Funny I used to be a "Laundry Engineer" for Alsco Linen Service 
http://www.alsco.com.au/. I know what you mean by damp and hot the big 
washers dumped their hotwater steam into a semi open channel and all the 
vapour went straight up into their electrics/control panels. That was a 
few years ago now ('97).
