Or, another way to put it, ATI is a crapshoot. We have HP boxes with
ATI cards at work, and you can't even reliably switch to a CTL-ALT-Fn
and back to CTL-ALT-F7 without the card locking the box, and the
screensaver is a true crapshoot.
