a little sidux humor <ot>

I've been using sidux for a number of months now, and will probably do
so ad infinitum, but I came across a little quirk while perusing the
forums that from our American "anything-goes" viewpoint is humorous or
downright ridiculous but from the German legalistic viewpoint is a
fact of life in their almost democratic system.
You cannot discuss any problems with mplayer (among others) on the
forums, and any reference to same will be converted to **MULTIMEDIA**
or quietly suppressed. Apparently there is some sort of weird German
law that that forbids even the slightest mention of any product that
provides the ability to play DVDs. There are certainly Debian
repositories that provide mplayer et al, but you can't discuss any of
this on sidux.
Sigh, I still remember from my days in Germany 40 years ago that you
couldn't even have a discussion on radio or TV that might be
interpreted as putting down those in office. Talk radio as we know it
would be anathema. Not much has changed. Legalism lives on.
