[Linux-users] 2 IP's on the same network card

I've been Googling, but I just can't seem to get the right command for
this.

I need to configure 2 ip adresses on the same network card.  On solaris
we used to create for example, eth0 and eth0:1  (by plumbing the
devices).

I read that it can be done on Linux, but I can't find the command or
syntax to do this.   My ifconfig does not seem to have a plumb option.

I am using Suse SLES9.   Is this possible ?
