[Linux-users] USB /dev/sda weirdness

I have a 4G mp3 player. Works fine but...
SuSe 10.2
I use KDE as my desktop. I plug in the player and up pops a
Konqueror window, it is /dev/sda
I can drag and drop just fine but when I use the trash option
to remove folders of mp3's for some reason the disk space is not
returned. The folder and files get deleted but the 'empty' space
is gone to lala land. I noticed this today when I tried to copy an
album to it and was told the disk was full.
So I go to winblows and nothing shows up there either except is is
97% full. a reformat fixed it. I dropped and deleted numerous times
and windows always gives me back the disk space while linux does not.

Some other thing that might help. The music is on winblows and I access
on linux through SMB just fine. The share works fine, I can add, delete
and rename files/folders through Linux with no problem.

Any ideas??

What can I do in linux to get it to work right.

Thanks
Ronnie
