This is an odd turn of events, to say the least. The inventor of 
bittorrent, forget his name, a couple of years ago was just begging them 
to prosecute/sue him for his evil file sharing software. Real cocky. Now 
he's taking it proprietary. I wonder if they bought him or threatened him.

Anyway, this is what forks are for.
