Thanks for the suggestion James. I tried both suggestions;
system-config-lvm and the 'dd' command. Neither seemed to get me any
further. I've spent enough hours on this already and have decided to
just re-install.
It's strange that years ago I would have spent days or even weeks
trying to figure this out. Now, after only a couple of hours of
frustration, I've decided that I'm either too tired or too impatient
to deal with it. I guess I just expect things like this to simply
work. I can't wait for the day that they do.
