I remember doing a 10.1 download at home in under an hour. I was
gobsmacked. Seems our co-op has manged a deal so that the neighborhood's
fiber optic link is in our building. They give us a small fee and
unlimited download speed. We still pay a monthly fee, but not for the
speed we get! So be sure the bottleneck is where you think it is. As
anyone on this list knows, the speed of accessing in a system is
determined by all the links between, not just the ones the parties at
each end control. I guess your SUSE access is to the German site? I
suspect there are a few hops in between. I can agree that the SUSE
mirroring setup is less than adequate.
