1 The list has only been subscriber only, never has been open. I've
been dealing with hundreds of spams per day so you don't have to. Any
spams that reach the list are coming from subscribed addresses.
2. The only way to deal with spammers is not to go after them, but
smash the nuts of whoever is receiving the benefit. If the folks who
pay spammers start paying the operating expenses of the Internet (like
my $3k/month bill), then the costs will outweigh the benefits and the
stupidity will stop, but not until.
