book reader or PDF reader or PDA

    I'm looking for some lightweight, portable, cool, quiet, linux based
devices to read PDF and HTML files.  I don't necessarily need any more
functionality as I just want to be able to read downloaded PDFs and web
pages away from my PC.  I'd like the device to be larger than most PDAs
I've seen.  Shouldn't be any larger than say 8.5" x 11" like a sheet of
paper but not much smaller than say 6" x 9".  It also needs to be able
to read a USB drive or act as one so I can copy files I download on my
PC to it.

    This Sony Reader (
http://products.sel.sony.com/pa/prs/reader_specs.html ) looks promising
but it's not out yet, a bit small, and probably will be very expensive. 
I can do without their proprietary format support and mp3 playback as
well.  Doesn't mention what it runs either.

    Any ideas?
