nVidia question

Just wondering how the current Ubuntu 6.10 (Edgy) nVidia offering
stacks up with respect to currency and reliability. I know that Lonnie
maintained that Ubuntu 6.06 was offering an ancient version. I've only
recently gotten a computerwith an nVidia card, so I have no past
experience.

I've got

nvidia-glx-1.0.8774+2.6.17.5-8
nvidia-kernel-common-20051028+1ubuntu5

No problems that I can detect, but before the recent updates I was
experiencing occasional screen lockups - had to switch to an alternate
console then back to X to free the screen. I don't have a clue whether
this was a kernel-nVidia-xorg-or-??? problem, but it appears to be
gone after recent updates of all of the above.
