Mono and Dot Net Frame Work

In the beginning was serial. And serial communicated simply and elegantly
using easily understood escape sequences. And there was one MASTER COMPUTER,
and it was called by it's HOLY NAME(S), "UNIX" or "MAINFRAME.
And the habitants of this garden were in bliss.

Then, lo, the snake was released into the garden. And they calluth
him the "BILL". And the BILL broughuth the evil PC. But the inhabitants
of the garden tamed the PC with a law called "THE TERMINAL EMULATOR".
But another creature sneaked into the garden, and low it's NAME was
called "NOVELL". And the PCs began to communicate on usurping the
HOLY UNIX or MAINFRAME.

And the "BILL" saw the almighty significant of the the almighty DOLLAR
and decreed, that low, NOVELL, was wrong and thus he unleashed his wrath
called WINDOWS for PC upon the Garden, to upsurge the HOLY UNIX or MAINFRAME and
squash the creature called NOVELL.

And the inhabitants of the garden bit of the APPLE and GUI and become
addicts to ICONS and SOLITAIRE.

But the UNIX and the MAINFRAME's power were to strong for the BILL, so
low he fostered Client/Server upon the inhabitants to circumvent the
law of TERMINAL EMULATION. But the CLient/Server used the resources
of the garden, in a tremendous way, requiring that the Client/Server
be hosted on the HOLY UNIX or MAINFRAME as well as the PC(now called
by it's evil name, WINDOWS). And low, the inhabitants were rushing to and
fro, installing, reinstalling and rebooting, to keep the WINDOWS in
sync with the HOLY UNIX (now called by *NIX) and MAINFRAME.

And at this time, another creature creeped into the garden, and it's
name was "THE INTERNET". An man called " THE GORE" decreed he had brought
it. And LOW, the internet ate of the APPLE and the GUI and become
the BROWSER, and instead of becoming evil, the APPLE and the GUI
made the BROWSER a friend to the inhabitants of the garden. And the
law of the TERMINAL EMULATION was nearing an end. And some decreed,
perhaps it was near the end for the WINDOWS, as well.

And "THE BILL" became mightily angry, and fostered upon the inhabitants,
such terrible plagues of COM+, OLE, DDE, and upon the inhabitants did
rain, 98, and 2000 and XP and the greatest plague of all, "ME".

And thus the inhabitants became lost in a world of SOAP and DCOM, and
the heavy load of communication protocol and they cried out in despair!

Yet against such fierce and vengeful acts, did the INTERNET survive,
because it had learned to work in peace and harmony with the
HOLY *NIX and MAINFRAME and thus they spoke, in the languages of
peace called TCP/IP and HTML. And INTERNET heard the inhabitants cries
and brought down from the mountains of HIGHER LEARNING and EDUCATION
and the DOD, the language's of peace to the inhabitants.

But the "BILL", being angry at one of the HOLY *NIX, called "SUN",
and it's HOLY word called JAVA, and since he could not control the
languages of peace - TCP/IP and HTML, and now that the "BILL" and his
abomination child called "INTERNET EXPLORER", could not longer
rule the inhabitants of the garden, retreated into a cave for a short
time.

And there in that cave, the "BILL" found the OLD scroll of the law
of "TERMINAL EMULATION". And the "BILL" had a profound idea. For low,
what if the simple idea of escape sequences could be transcribed in the
language of peace called XML, and the Cleint/Server could be used
for display of the GUI, thus he could create his own HOLY
"WINDOW SERVER" and create a new law and called it "ASP" - for
Application Server Provider. And the BILL decreed to addict inhabitants
so that the BILL would never again be without the ALMIGHTY dollar,
and thus he called this abomination "The Dot Net" .....
