My experience with Travan drives has been that they're worse than
not having a backup because they provide a false sense of
security, often producing tapes that are worthless.
Given the price of external hard drives, their capacity, and the
ability to quickly get random files from them, I think they're
probably a better alternative for most small-to-medium business
and for most small system users.
