I won't entirely agree with that, but the REV seems to be the worst
of both worlds, at least in terms of costs. An external hard drive
would cost only a little more than a REV disk, and completely
eliminate the cost of the "drive". Travan tapes cost about as much
as the REV disks, but the drives are cheaper. DAT drives cost more
(but not that much more), but the tapes are quite cheap.
I suppose the REV has the advantage of being faster than tape, and
the cartridges (like tapes) would be more compact to store than a
bunch of external hard drives. But it has the disadvantage of being
dependent on a single vendor.
