Just to close the loop on this thread...

I ordered the ACARD linked above. Came in yesterday. Seems to work great. My 
system boots from it with no problems.

Installation consisted of installing it in a PCI slot. The correct 'atp870u' 
module was automatically found and loaded with no help from me. Zero effort. 
It's *scary* how easy this stuff has become.
