Yes, Suse does have acpid, at least for my office workstation. I am
going to check it when I get home.
I either shut down the systems by either init 0 - if I am in text mode
or have a gnome terminal , or click on menu bar Desktop - Logout -
Shutdown if I am under gnome.
Will also try poweroff tonight.
