Glad you asked ..
Got the SLAG Stuff done earlier this year. Easy as 1-2-3 to create menu
and screens. Parameter driven type stuff.
Found GTK+(#)/C# here lately. Would be an easy retrofit to
incorporate TRUE GUI from the GTK and C# libraries, since I patterned
the TUI intrinsic after the GUI side of things, just need to
extend some stuff to have all of the "COMMON" widgets that they have.
That way the "engine" could do true GUI or TUI depending on the
environment and you DO NOT have to make any program changes to
accommodate things.
S-Lang itself is fast, fast fast and very C like, so good choice there.
Seems like my hold up is the MVISAM database, just have not had time to
work on it since putting food on the table is #1 priority. Maybe I ought
to get one of those $300 per month programmers from Panama, David B. keeps
talking about to help work on it ;-> ....
Have gotten dragged into helping someone GUI'fying Appgen lately as well.
A lot of work on that has me to believe that it is a dying product, since
I have had to do a lot of "backdoor" sleuthing into the runtime.
Bad thing about closed source is that even some good ideas will wither and
die when a product eventually collapses. At least I do have a way
to re-source AppGen applications to my SLAG project.
