Actually, I think I learned something very interesting about the whole
thing. I have to admit that I didn't read through the whole thread,
though -- too long and tedious -- but in the emails and responses that I
read, I noticed that the Original Poster was stubbornly complaining
because he felt that he was right because his logic was coherent. Other
list members were "bashing" him because their understanding of the facts
was different. Their logic was coherent too. However, the problem with
logic -- as a list member's sig succinctly put it -- is that you can be
wrong with authority. This thread is one example of Godel's
Incompleteness theorem, and Fedora list members will not be able to
refute the OP's statements nor persuade the OP about "the error of his
ways" because their level of understanding and his are too different! In
order for the OP to even understand the arguments of his peers, there
needs to be a shift in his perspective, which can only come about if he
allows himself to be further educated.
Ric and I were having an interesting discussion a few weeks ago about
the value of education in dealing with superstitions and I think it
certainly applies here, though I doubt if the OP will be open to any
more suggestions from the Linux crowd. It is a quandary that communities
always face -- in the Land of the Blind, the one-eyed man typically does
not become king, he is often stoned to death by those who are blind.
Ok, I think it's time to take my meds now...
