Oh boy! You just had to post this so I could fritter away 2 hours
listening! I didn't want to do my chores anyway as it's raining, but
I'll blame you, as it's far more convenient to my overall state of
Denial to do so.

Listening:

1.) Avoids closed teamwork as a bad thing. (inner sanctum issues)
2.) Oldest surviving Distro.
3.) SLS would have been the oldest distro, never heard of that one.
4.) Ha! Volkerding owned an Apple ][+ for his first computer. I had an
Apple][ minus the plus. Cooler machine, pre-Jobs job.
5.) He uses KDE as his desktop.
6.) Has issues with UDEV, prefers the old /dev scheme for stability for
servers. I agree.
7.) includes mp3 support in Slackware.
8.) I like this guy! He's learning to play the banjo. Mine has a crank.
9.) Great interview with an intelligent guy.
10.) Sounded like the interviewers were phreaking the phone line, whilst
in need of relief of Le' Toilet. Been there, I couldn't tear myself away
from something SO interesting, while practically ready to succumb to the
inner neanderthal, and being caught up in the high drama of intellectual
demands versus those of the physical. One day, when I'm freshly passed
away yet still warm, they'll rip my brain and spinal cord out to install
them into a submarine sewage barge in Kiev. And then I'll have to hold
it until I am in International Waters. That would be Hell.
11.) The guy chewing cereal got annoying, like real quick. I thought I
needed a life. <smirks> Didn't need to waste bandwidth with sound-checks
and lame-o banter.
12.) Overall impression, from listening to Volkerding, I'd run Slackware
if I wasn't so invested in RH/FC.

Thanks Kurt, now it's dark, still raining and I have successfully
avoided chores for another day. I did manage to do my wash, however.
There is that! There are days when being an old fart bachelor has it's
upside. Ric
