There seems to be a lot of loose ends in the announcement :)

As an aside, I've emailed several of my friends who work(ed) at SuSE
only to find out that they now are employed by MySQL. Apparently
these talks have been going on for some time now.

The most interesting reply I recieved back is that also included in
the agreement was Microsoft's guarantee not to sue over patent issues.
Talk about beating a dead horse...
