trying out gvidcap.  Seems to make a number of *.xwd files (*.xwd.gz
if you've specified compression).

Now I need to convert to an .avi.

Looks like I can convert from xwd to pnm.  Hopefully, ffmpeg can grab
the individual pnm files and convert to an avi.

I'm getting closer.
