All true. It might even make some small reduction in the amount of spam we all get. But I can't see much change so far.

My issue is last year or so the two big ISPs I deal with (SBC/ATT and Cox) both changed to the SMTP blocking and evidently didn't tell anyone beforehand. Result: a lot of my clients stopped having their email delivered with no apparent reason for it. Lots of headache for both them and me to walk around and reconfigure scads of desktops one at a time to use a different smtp server.

I subscribe to a (sort of) business class of DSL so it didn't affect me much. But my clients were harmed by a thoughtless implementation non-plan.
