My Word!!!! There were more people visible on any of the freeways over the
hill from the Mojave Desert than the population of Siskiyou County
http://www.co.siskiyou.ca.us/. I haven't been in the Bay Area for 10 or so
years, but I'm sure it's the same. When I was in high school in the '50's
There were only 10,000,000 in the entire state. 2,000,0000 were in LA
County.
