In case you are still interested in trying the Linux Broadcom driver I 
could send you offlist the AppleAirPort2 driver file from my Apple 
ibook. You could run bcm43xx-fwcutter on it to extract the firmware 
files; it works, also in an i386 Fedora installation (I have tried it).
Alternatively, I could send you the resulting .fw files.
