Hi Kurt:  /sbin/fooze is a binary that installs LILO in the MBR.  From 
what I've gathered it has some system management function, i.e. responds 
to configuration changes and updates LILO.  It is not smart enough to 
know  to update LILO when it is in the superblock and not the MBR.
