Nice GUI

When I work with Unix, I just use CLI I 've never paid enough attention on
GUI . The only times I use the GUI are for installing some programs that
requires X.

Now I need a Linux box that works as both server and desktop for the purpose
of testing and developing.

Could you please tell me some Linux distribution/desktop manager with "nice"
interface ? I mean it looks friendly a little bit. I tried RH but personally
I really do not like its desktop.
