Smart move. This has been my recommendation to clueless clients for the
past two years. A lot of people will, of course, ignore this advice and
end up paying me lots of nice consulting fees to fix their PCs. People are
resistant to technological change and end up paying more for short term
fixes.

Where Ive been called in to setup a new PC, Ive convinced the end user to
install a firewall, decent AV software and use Firefox and Thunderbird
instead of IE and Outlook. I dont get a lot of calls from those folks
oddly enough ;-)
