hmm...

I have tried Ubuntu, and it installs fine and is pretty nice,very
stable, but seems a bit odd to use sudo all the time,  and rumor is they
are somewhat undermining Debian with changes, making their binaries
incompatible. Haven't tried Kubuntu; heard it's not quite up to Ubuntu
stability.
