I have no way of knowing whether Dell has corrected the problem, but
... my company had very high fallout with Dell desktops and laptops
over the past year. I don't remember the laptop problems, but the
desktops have flaky capacitors (they begin to ooze stuff within a
year), motherboards in general, and power supplies.

Needless to say, our company now has a contract with HP which means we
get ATI-crap (from the Linux standpoint) video. You can't win.
