For business driving, when I lived in Helena covering all of Montana as
my territory, my Ford Taurus with studded snow tires, all around, drove
through roads of any conditions. No traffic there on the interstates in
good weather, in bad weather it was just me and God on the road. I could
do 60 on snow and black ice, slick as you please, by keeping the speed
down on the straight-aways and when you went into a curve just keep a
tad of pressure on the gas pedal and steer where you want to head. Front
wheel drive works just fine in those conditions, as long as you don't
get stupid or meet a full grown elk on the road. I hit deer routinely.
An elk would kill ya. Badgers eat tires. That's about it for driving up
there! Ric
