In case you haven't seen the weather reports, we've got one of those
once-a-decade snow storms - 4 feet plus in my driveway one foot plus
in the street and more coming down. My vote for"player of the game" is
Xcel Energy. They've done their setup correctly. In spite of the fact
that everything in the area is "halted", we've still got power and
heat.
Yesterday my car got stuck in a drift on the way home. Two sets of
Samaritans helped me out. One gave me a ride to a gas station where I
tromped around for a couple of hours until a lady drove in to fill up
her SUV. She delivered 3 of us to our doorsteps! Somehow, I don't
think a liberal weenie in a pushcart-sized alternative energy vehicle
would have been much use.
It's really a blessing to be stranded in my own home instead of at the
airport or on the side of the road.
I hope your Christmas or Hanukhah or whatever is Merry and Bright.
