Bummer. We're pretty lucky in the Aurora area - most all the power
exceptfor the HV transmission lines is underground,so the power
outages that plagued many areas of Denver and western suburbs after
the snowstorm a few weeks ago left us untouched. Trees and normal
electric lines on poles don't mix very well in bad weather.
We do get the occasional brownout or full outage during the summer
months when all the ACs are cranking at full speed.
About three weeks ago, we had a three-hour outage at work.
Construction crews frequently cut the underground lines near here, but
no, this time it was a transformer station. Two of the transformers
blew and sent black clouds into the sky.
