I, like you, don't trust such statistics. It would be interesting to
know what formula they use to reach these figures. Linux counter used
to have a (might still, I don't know) count of registered machines and
what they were running, but of course someone had to participate in linux
counter to register their machines...so if anything that would only show
what the majority of people participating were running.

Still, I fail to see what the big deal is about what most people are
using/downloading as we all use whatever we feel comfortable with or
whatever our companies force us to use.
