Agreed here. Oracle's documentation is horrible for the most part, and
makes all kinds of asumptions that aren't true for most real world usage
cases.

That part always amused me. Oracle actually would provide 'updated' RPMs
for things like glibc which would break non-oracle software, not to
mention render the OS unsuportable by Redhat. Oracle likes to assume that
the only thing running on the server is their software.

Any good DBA, oracle or otherwise, can usually command a good salary,
because being a DBA isn't simple.
