FUSE

Anyone

  I have had a call from a recuritor for someone who has Linux kernel work. They
would also need to know Fuse. A Library is a library and generally simple to pickup,
at least for me.

1. Would I be wrong in thinking Linus controls all who work
with the Linux kernel, except those who do it for their own purpose(s) and not to be
used in the general kernel work.

2. Fuse, has anybody used or worked with this system. I have read their website and
it has perked an interest in me, especially some of the projects using the fuse
system.

Filesystem in Userspace
Introduction

With FUSE it is possible to implement a fully functional filesystem in a userspace
program.  Features include:

    * Simple library API
    * Simple installation (no need to patch or recompile the kernel)
    * Secure implementation
    * Userspace - kernel interface is very efficient
    * Usable by non privileged users
    * Runs on Linux kernels 2.4.X and 2.6.X
    * Has proven very stable over time

cheers
