Question on Dell 700m - RHEL 3 & Fedora 4

I were trying to install Linux to my Dell notebook Inspiron 700m. This
notebook uses IDE drive.

My first attempt was to install Fedora Core 4. I borrowed an FC4 DVD from a
friend of mine ( which is from a SAMS book ). The installations went well
without any problem but after the installation, the system booted with some
error relating to disk format.

I tried two times, one with a default installation ( that FC4 uses Volume
Group ) and the second time with manual partitioning which I did not use the
volume group and just set the simple case of three partitions boot, root and
swap. Both installation ended up with partition/disk error at the first boot
after installation.

I tried with RHEL 3.0 ( update 4 ) and I did not experience any problem.

Is it some problem with the DVD ? Or is there something special parms ( like
disk parms )I need to enter ?

This notebook has a wireless controller Intel Pro/Wireless 2200BG and cannot
see it with RHEL. Does RHEL or FC4 support this controller ?

Thanks,

Vu
