I avoid all MAXTOR disks like the plague...

Just bought 73Gb Cheetahs - yes they are expensive but the brand-name
quality is there (along with a 5 year warranty).

We now have a Seagate-only policy for servers (we had Maxtors fail three
times within a year on one server prompting the policy change). I still
have 18Gb Seagates on some servers that have lasted 5 years...
