Obviously he's never run a database on a system without a UPS. I run mysql
for my MythTV box. Every time I lose power or my kids kick the reset button
(I gotta remember to disconnect that) I get a nifty email notification of the
database status afterwards (actually it's mysql complaining that the tables
are not clean). I'm glad to know the database is being maintained.
