Fantastic kernel 2.6.14

Hi all,

I recently upgraded my kernel to 2.6.14 on my notebook and I had a
couple of surprises that I thought I'd share with everybody:

1. The Centrino wireless function worked without me having to build the
kernel modules ! It seems that Centrino support is now built into the
kernel itself!

2. Performance seems to have also improved significantly! has anyone
else noticed this? Did they make changes to the CPU scheduler again?
When I booted into XFCE, I was amazed that it started up faster than
before. This is one of the biggest performance improvements I have seen
since the switch from 2.4.x kernels to 2.6.x. But I'm not sure if it is
just me. Or maybe it is XFCE (I upgraded to 4.2.3 at the same time)?

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Regards,
pascal chong
