This I did way back when. And I got a user account with the name of my
machine. Not a machine account in the AD. So, it was back to the drawing
board. They are busy seeing how to make a machine account in the AD. And
I suspect that they way to do that is for them, as administrator, to log
in to their network via the 'net join ads...' command from my machine.
At that time, the machines, SIHBLTB, exchange details that establishes
my machine within their AD. Then, SAMBA uses that hook to validate user
credentials for their users wanting to access SAMBA shares on my Linux
box.

That's the dream.

I know. But I am trying to organize access to my company's information
for access by the company that bought us. They want it now. But their IT
guys don't seem to understand 'now'.

So, I am also looking at a web-based thing to give the same result.
