The people I've met from Microsoft in the Mac Office group take pride in
having a better product on Mac than the Windows version.

On the other hand, that's not enough reason for my to use proprietary
software on the Mac when OpenOffice.org does the job well.

BTW:  I got a very non-responsive answer from the Mac folks from Microsoft
last week when I asked about support for the Open Document Standard XML
file formats in Office 2004 for Mac :-).  They weren't much better when I
asked about connecting to mysql and postgresql.

Imagine if every Thursday your shoes exploded if you tied them the usual
