gmplayer & mplayer operation

Sorry to repost before an answer, but have been working on the prblem, and after doing
some research found somethings to try. Rebuilt mplayer with the following:

RSivernell:/opt/downloads/utl/MPlayer-1.0pre7 # ./configure --enable-gui
--enable-dynamic-plugins --with-x11libdir=/usr/X11R6/lib64
--with-x11incdir=/usr/X11R6/include --with-codecsdir=/usr/local/lib/codecs
--disable-lirc --disable-lircc --with-gtk-config=/opt/gnome/bin/gtk-config

now GUI build gives this:

vo: X11 running at 1904x1200 with depth 24 and 32 bpp (":0.0" => local display)

A window appears on the display with nothing happening and at the bottom right hand
side a black oval appears.

now NON-GUI build gives this:

Both stop at that point and there is no playing of the movie.  Also the font problem
was fixed by linking the /usr/X11R6/font/truetype/ariel was symlinked to
$home/.mplayer. I am trying to dl the RPM now and try that.
