As much as I like the thought, maintaining a distro is not something
many of us have time for. We've now become embroiled in the rest of
earning our income. Besides, since we've had so many different
defection directions, we'd likely have a difficult time making some of
the decisions, such as software packaging. I don't think we'd argue
much about delivery mechanisms (APT can be used for RPM and DEB alike).
While I still harbor a lot of good feelings towards SuSE, I've become
quite fond of Kubuntu. I still like Lizard best out of all the
installers, but it's days are past (except for one Caldera-based
distro I can't remember which)
On a more humorous note, I'm writing this from a Mac keyboard and
mouse plugged into my Dell laptop. There's a junk cube I was
window-shopping at before they haul the "junk" away, and I saw these
had USB connectors. Sure enough, plug them in and they work. Most
intriguing is the Open-Apple key, which is treated just like a Windows
key Open-Apple-X starts playing music in Amarok :) Now it I could
only find the "End" and "Home" key equivalents... ;)
