Repartioning NTFS File System

If I recall aright, Mandrake has tools for this, as does Xandros--though
Xandros only at install, and only in the "Deluxe" version or better. I
have modified an NTFS partition with QTParted in Knoppix. QTParted is of
course just a graphical front end to parted (and I suspect so are
Mandrake's and Xandros's tools).
Knoppix is ideal for this kind of thing, as it would be best accomplished
without the drive in question being mounted. And even though there are
good open source options, it may still be necessary to use Partition Magic
or something like it on a heavily used drive, because the open source tools
may see it as fragmented and refuse to work even after you have defragmented.
