<OT> DEC ALPHA OSF/1

This is probably off topic but I have a customer whose old DEC Alpha died and he has asked me if I can get the data from the hard drives. I installed the Hard drives into a pc and ran Knoppix. I can read half of the partitions, but the others produce an error. "File system not specified". 

I suspect that these partitions may be formatted as osf/1? 

How do I specify what file system to mount with Knoppix and would it even work? Is there anyway that I can read these partitions from a Linux box?
